Jody Moon

Sculptor of Perspectives

His superpowers: the ability to transform any environment into a stunning work of art, shaping spaces to tell compelling stories

Born and raised between a factory and a cornfield in a quintessential Midwestern town. As soon as he could, Jody moved and bounced between San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, and a few places in between. Soaking up the electricity of NYC, the practicality of Chicago, and the physicality of San Francisco and eventually, landing in Palm Springs.

His career started by chance. A close photographer friend once said, “I love your apartments—every time I visit, you’ve rearranged the furniture! Why don’t you become a photo stylist?” He was stunned: People get paid for this? The idea that he could make a living making things beautiful felt like a gift
from the gods.

From there he began assisting by taping down rugs, steaming sheets, and carrying endless stacks of books—lots of books. Absorbing every lesson his mentors shared, he will forever be grateful for the wisdom they passed on. After a year, his mentors kicked him out of the nest with a warm, “Fly, be free!” And he did.

Jody cut his teeth at Pottery Barn’s digital studio, folding sheets, making beds, and setting tabletops. It was the perfect place to learn, grow, and discover his voice as a stylist. Fifteen years later, every shoot still brings him the same excitement and joy.

When he’s not fluffing pillows and fine-tuning spaces, you can find him on the tennis court—playing a lot of tennis. It’s in his DNA, and he’s come to see life through the lens of the game: “It starts with “love.” If you miss your first serve, you get a second chance. A mishit can still win the point.” Every moment is a new opportunity. He celebrates the wins and learn from the losses, both on and off the court.
